Asheboro's United Pentecostal Church was established in January, 1988. At that time, Pastor and Mrs. David Hutton took possession of a small building on Chestnut Street and began seeking contacts for Bible study. Actual services began shortly thereafter. In January, 1998, during tenth-year anniversary services, a mortgage burning took place and the building was later put up for sale. Services were then conducted between the Pugh Funeral Home chapel in Seagrove and the Asheboro Chamber of Commerce meeting room.
Construction on the current facility, located on NC Hwy 42 North, began in January, 2000; the building was dedicated the following May. |
